In an emergency...every second matters.

CareCircles is built with one simple mission:
To empower every educator and caregiver with the tools they need to protect student health—anytime, anywhere.

At a high school track meet last spring, a student collapsed.  This left the adults in shock and without a treatment plan, scrambling to figure out his medical history — Was it asthma? Diabetes? A heart condition?  They had no place to easily check whether this student had a health condition or if this student had emergency medications. The delay in accessing his records could have cost precious minutes.  After completing a CTD app development course last summer, I saw this as the perfect opportunity to put my skills into practice

This event inspired me to create the CareCircles App for emergencies like this in the future.

This scenario reflects a statewide problem: more than 750,000 Illinois students live with chronic conditions, yet school staff often lack a quick way to access vital student health information in an emergency. Many schools do not have a health office or a nurse on site during the school day, let alone at after-school activities, leaving teachers, coaches, and chaperones as first responders. CareCircles, an app I built that is already in use at a local school, makes parent-provided student health data,  emergency medications, and health action plans instantly accessible to any supervising adult in an easy-to-use format. With statewide adoption, Illinois could ensure that every adult responsible for students is equipped to respond and set a national standard for school safety.

This app is available at no cost to public schools in Illinois.
